Metacognitive Reflection

1)As a writer I think that I have improved in certain aspects. The main thing that helped me was going over notes and comments that Ms. Nagi left on previous papers. This helped me understand what I was doing wrong and how I could improve in that specific area on my next writing piece.

2)The area that I have improved in is pulling quotes to support my argument or thesis. Before this class, my quotes were too long and I was not cutting extra information out. This class helped me understand that only important and relevant information should be in the quotes and not extra fluff.I focused on the important parts and it helped me strengthen my evidence.  

3)The area that needs further improvement is connecting my ideas to the bigger picture. I tend to analyze my quotes, but forget to pull them back in and analyze how this helps my thesis or claim of the passage. I think the way to improve this would be by reviewing my past work and seeing how I could make sure to revisit the thesis after my examples are given. 

4)The writing assignment that I am proud of is my Social Concerns Final Essay. In this work, I believe that I put my best effort in and gave it all I had. I was able to use all the input and ideas that Ms. Nagi presented me with in my previous works, and use it towards helping me write. I had good analysis of my quotes and made full use of the quotes I presented in my essay. The overall piece was cohesive and in my conclusion I brought everything back together. Thus, I think my final fits my idea of a new and improved essay. 

5)I think the one thing that Ms. Nagi could do to help my writing would be going over my passages and quick writes with me. This would help me further understand where I tend to go wrong on my writing. After talking with Ms. Nagi I believe that it would help me get on track for my next writing pieces.
