Why are they screaming???

Betty: Tituba?
Tituba: Yes dear.
Betty: Can you really conjure up Robert's spirit?
Tituba: I don't know dear. I shall try my best. Why do you ask?
(Tituba walks around to Betty, and guides her to the table).
Betty: I loved this boy, and he loved me too Tituba. Whenever I was helping papa out in the back he would walk by and wave hello.
Tituba: Tell me more child.
Betty: Promise you won't tell.
(Abigail enters).
Abigail: What nonsense you speak Betty. Uncle Parris will skin ya.
Tituba: Now, now child don't speak so harsh to her. Shes still young. You must go to Goody Proctor's house and finish your duties. Mr. Proctor was asking of you.
(Abigail is shocked but controls herself).
Abigail: Ok then. I shall see you in the evening. Goodbye, now Tituba. Goodbye Betty.
(Abigail rushes out the door leaving Tituba and Betty alone again).
Tituba: Child, finish your story.
Betty: He came by the house every day now Tituba. I swear on mother.
Tituba: Silly child. You cannot swear by a dead person child.
Betty: I promise! He came by every day until father found out and killed him. Since then, I miss him Tituba. I truly do. I'll do anything to see him again. Anything Tituba.
( Reverend Parris walks in with an angry face and slams the door behind him).
Reverend Parris: I cannot stand this Ministry.
Betty: What happened Papa?
Reverend Parris: Nothing that concerns you, dear.
Tituba: Sir, shall I make you a cup of tea?
( Reverend Parris walks upstairs without a reply).
(A few hours pass and Abigail enters the room with a gloomy face).
Tituba: What happened dear? Why so gloomy.
Abigail: That evil Goody Proctor. "It's a bitter woman, a lying, cold, sniveling woman, and I will not work for such a woman" (Miller 138-139).
Tituba: Child stay calm now. No need to speak against her.
Abigail: Tituba? Can you place a curse? Barbados surely taught you!
Tituba: What has rained on you children. First young Betty, and now you!
Abigail: Answer my question!
Tituba: I shall see. Meet me in the forest when the sun is not visible. Bring a dead chicken with you.
(Three hours pass. Abigail and Betty are making their way to the forest with a few other girls).
Tituba: Why so many?
Betty: We all need your help Tituba!
(The girls are told to gather around the pit and Abigail hands Tituba the chicken).
Tituba: Speak your needs.
(The girls go around saying who they want to conjure. Abigail puts a curse on Good Proctor, and Betty conjures up Robert's spirit. Few minutes pass and Betty screams).
Betty: Tituba! I can see him!
( Betty gets up and starts dancing. The rest follow as Tituba is speaking and saying words.)
Abigail: Curse you Goody Proctor! Curse you. For I will never be your slave again!
Betty: Robert! Can you hear me?
(Abigail smashes the chicken and drinks the blood. All the girls are screaming and giggling).
(Enters Reverend Parris).
Reverend Parris: What in gods name is going on here?
(All the girls run and scatter. Betty drops to the ground).
(The next day comes and Reverend Parris is in the room with Abigail, while Betty is laying on the bed).
Reverend Parris: What in holy earth were you doing last night?
Abigail: Why uncle we were just dancing. That's all.
(Betty is thinking in her mind).
Betty: Why is she lying? Why can I not move my legs? What happened to me?
(Abigail and Reverend Parris continue arguing).
Betty: I can see Robert. Robert! Robert! Can u see me?
(Few hours pass. Mr. Hale enters).
Hale: Has the devil been conjured?
(Betty who can hear everyone is thinking while unconscious).
Betty: Why must Abigail lie? Tell him the truth. Why can no one hear me? Abigail! Tituba! Papa!
(No one is able to hear Betty. After minutes of questioning done by Mr. Hale. Abigail finally explodes).
Abigail: It was Betty Mr. Hale. She told Tituba to call the devil!
Reverend Parris: Why must you lie?! Betty would never call Satan!
(Betty gets up, opens her eyes, and starts screaming. Everyone now looks over).
Betty: I want Robert! Robert! Robert!
(She falls to the ground and becomes still once again).
The Curtain closes.........
